"0": "LEXICON OF FLORA AND FAUNA, VOL. III\nby Dozan The Falling Leaf, Arch-Druid, Master of Greengrove, The Dragon of Chauntea, Aidbringer.\n\nThis is a bestiary of the flora and fauna of the area known as The Torn Lands. The information in these tomes has been gathered through extensive and dangerous travels in all the areas described.\n\nAll the lands described are unsafe for the average traveler.\n\nTo the best of my knowledge the information is correct.\n\nTHE VALLEY OF THUNDER:\nFlora: A few palms and desert flowers, but to the untrained eye the land is almost barren.\nFauna: Talos Beetles, Talos Beetle Herders, Blue Dragon Wyrmlings, Lendizare.\nDescription: The Valley of Thunder is the entrance to the Torn Lands, which was created by Talos, The Storm Lord. The Great Blue Wyrm Lendizare The Stormkeeper was placed there ages ago to guard the entrance. It's brood of dragons and the Talos Herder and Talos Beetle minions ravage the land and make it one of the most unsafe places in the Inner Realms. The terrible blessing of Talos can be felt even in Deep Talkash, where weaker cousins of the herders and beetles reign in the part closest to the valley. A headless spirit of a knight of Chauntea, blessed be Her name, from the Order of the Steel of Balance also resides in the valley and knows a bit more of its history.\n\nBEASTS OF THE TORN LANDS:\nCreatures here are generally immune to electricity and resistant to sonic damage. They have no special weaknesses. Most deal some form of electricity damage.\n\nTalos Beetles: \nType: Insect\nDescription: These are fierce fighting machines, using their powerful bite to tear adventurers apart. They rely on quick regeneration and a tough hide, that makes them resistant to weapons with less than moderate enchantment. If these Beetles can divide your attention, they are capable of delivering devastating death attacks. Their bites also has a tendency to slow you down, making you less effective in a fight. Their hearts are a valuable magical component, capable of producing a chain lightning on use. They are also very valuable.\n\nTalos Beetle Herders: \nType: Magical Beast \nDescription: The herders tend to the beetles in this area, but to what end is not clear. They are epic spellcasters and routinely summon Mechanus Golems to fight for them. Their usual approach is to cast improved invisibility, drink a haste potion, summon a Golem and then start blasting with spells. The herders are not suitable as magic components, but usually have some gold and potions. They are less resistant to physical damage than the Talos Beetles, but are equally immune to sonic and electricity damage. The herders employ true seeing. \n\nBlue Dragon Wyrmling: \nType: Dragon \nDescription:The brood of Lendizare infest the deeper parts of The Valley of Thunder. They are fierce opponents, who strike fear in the hearts of their enemies, attacking on sight with claws that leave deep bleeding wounds. Naturally they can breathe electricity, and they are also immune to electricity. On top of this they have received some martial training and use a fighting style not dissimilar to monks. They are even capable of evading the effect of spells that would normally harm them greatly. They have a special fondness for rubies, and one can usually be found in their possession.\n\nLendizare The Stormkeeper: \nType: Blue Great Wyrm Dragon.\nDescription: The guardian of the key to Fort Thunder and the Torn lands, a place no-one to the best of my knowledge has ever visited. The Stormkeeper also guards another treasure, the coveted Shield of Lendizare, a ward of epic proportion. Although Lendizare can be defeated it is no easy task. It is a capable spell caster among other things able to heal itself many times. On top of that, Lendizare is a fighting machine almost unrivaled in the Inner Realms with huge claws and teeth that can tear even the strongest of warriors to shreds in mere seconds. Until recently it was widely believed that Lendizare was a hereditary title among the dragons. Having killed this Lendizare on many occasions, this seemed the only explanation. An almost peaceful conversation with Lord Ibaraksadur, did however shed new light on this matter. He told us that his mother was one of the Reborn. My friend Anastacia the Reborn informs me that she believes experienced Reborn in general are capable of resurrection magic. This would seem to suggest that it is the same Lendizare, and that it has a more powerful master, most likely in Fort Thunder.\n"
