"0": "In order to gain entrance into a fortified enemy castle, it may be in order to lay siege on it to force the defenders out of their holes.\n\nSiege Engineers are the perfect addition to any army, as they know how to build the tools required to effectively lay siege onto an enemy fortification.\nThis following pages will explain you how to become a good siege engineer:\n\nTo lay siege onto a castle, you first need to build the required siege engine. We will assume you are building a light catapult:\n\nTo build a catapult you have either to construct a new or build a finished Light Catapult Construction Set. While building them yourself may come cheaper, buying them at your Master Siege Engineer is surely the easier and faster way to get your hands on a catapult.\n\n\nAmmo\n----------\nNow you need ammo for your catapult. Ammo comes in several different flavours each with its own pros and cons:\n\nrocks - the most simple and cheapest ammo they have small area of effect. Usually rocks suitable for a catapult can be found lying around on the ground in rural and battlefield areas\n\nacid - Buckets with acidic liquid are nasty as they tend to spray over their target area and create a acidic fog on the impact. Their area of effect is somewhat higher than rocks but they come at a much higher price\n\nfire -fire grenades explode on impact blasting people in their area of effect into nirvana. Their damage is high compared to rocks or gas as is their price. When shot on oil-covered ground a whole area can be set aflame within seconds\n\noil - oil does not do damage when it hits its target area, at least no physical damage. Instead it will grease the huge area of effect and slowdown any movement within. Creatures moving into or within the area may slip and take time to recover ... time for a well aimed fire grenade to set the whole area aflame...\n\nflare - flares do no damage but illuminate the battlefield, allowing the catapult and ballista crews to aquire their targets on range.\n\nThe choise of ammo is in your hands, but you should be aware of the possibilities of using special ammo to create special effects. Slowing down an army with one or two well aimed shots with oil allows more time for targeting with high damage ammo later on ... or even burn them down to hell with a well place fire grenade\n\nWhen discussing ammo you should be aware of the different loading times required for your catapult with different ammo. Loading a catapult with simple rocks is by far an easier and faster procress than loading it with a cautious to handle fire grenade\n\nDeployment\n------------------\nAs a second step, choose your deployment site for the catapult. To deploy your catapult, simply use the construction kit and build it. Please not that you cannot move the catapult from its position after building it, so be sure to choose a good site first...\n\nOwnership\n-----------------\nOnce you finished building the catapult, you are automatically considered its owner and nobody else can use it while you are still in the same area as the catapult.\n\nIf you want to give up control to another person you have to Drop Ownership on the catapult. \n\nUnclaimed Catapults can be claimed by any person walking by.\n\nRepair\n-----------\nCatapults will start to degrade the moment you deploy them. This process will take a while but as soon as you receive the first warning about the catapults condiditon it is time to repair it. \n\nTo repair a catapult you need enough would (one plank per hitpoint) and then choose the repair option. All wood needed for the repair will be taken from your inventory.\n\nIf you allow your catapult to degrade past a certain point, it will break and become unuseable until repaired to working condition or until it faded away completely.\n\nLearning Siegecraft\n-----------------------------\nIn order to fire a catapult, you must at least understand the basics of Siegecraft. People without that knowledge will not be able to use a catapult in any way.\n\n"
