"0": "Deep in the desert, far beneath the shifting sand, a dark and ancient malevolence stirred from its long slumber. In the magical light of the city it had long since razed and then ruled, it looked about once more seeing the many undead shuffling about mixed with those that worshiped it as a god. In thier viens flowed a measure of its power, its blood, its magic. They were its children of a sort though, no feelings of love or kindness would ever be felt. They were minions of varying power, nothing more, nothing less. Servants to be used as it felt, for whatever purpose it deemed nessasary. Being obeyed was all that was required. In return, another day's existence and maybe some small trinket would be given. A simple enough bargain.\n\nVermathrax lifted his head and summoned sevearl of his servants and sent them forth. A box of his treasure had been taken. The fact it was one he never even knew he had meant nothing, everything in the city was his and therefore, the thief had to pay. There were scrolls that told of him and the City of the Dead as it was called after his attack. These would not be allowed to remain in the hands of others. The time was not yet right for him to once more let the world know of his existance. He was not yet ready to rule over all. The so called Immortals warred now, the vampires and the lycanthropes. Let them kill one another for a time, weakening themselves. The mortal races posed little threat to him at all but, there were some in the races of the Immortals that might know of him still. Of how the war was lost so long ago. Of how he was tricked into destoying this city, becoming its ruler and then having the magic seal him within its walls.\n\nHe began sending his minions, the lesser ones at least, out into the desert above to keep the unwanted away till he was ready. If they failed, so be it. They were lesser minions only.\n\nYes, he would be freed soon enough he knew. His laughter shook the city as he thought of how his freedom would come about, after all, it had already begun."
