"0": "Sehanine is the goddess of the moon; specifically, the full moon. Under her governance fall divination, subtle magics and protection against madness. She watches over the dreams of elves, guarding them while in reverie, and is also the protector and guide of the dead, leading elves to Arvanaith when their course among mortals is finished. \n \n Sehanine is the mightiest of female powers in the elven pantheon. Some legends place her as Corellon's consort, though most say she is merely the best recognized of Angharradh's triune nature. Her antipathy for Lloth has existed since the latter was Araushnee. \n \n The Daughter of the Night Skies manifest mainly in dreams and waking visions. She grants boons only to worshipers who enter an altered state of awareness through trances, meditation, reverie or dancing. Most frequently she gifts the favored with ability to call on her wisdom, abiltiy to communicate with other beings through dreams, or view truths otherwise unseen. \n\n Dogma: \"Life is a series of mysteries whose secrets are veiled by the Luminous Cloud. As the spirit transcends its mortal bounds and new mysteries are uncovered, a higher form is achieved and the cycle of life continues. Dreams are achieved. Through dreams, visions, and omens revealed in sleep or reverie, the Daughter of the Night Sky unveils the next step along the path and the next destination on the journey of mystic wonder that is life and death and life. Revere the mysterious moon, who draws forth tides of being from us all.\" \n\n When the time comes for an elf to leave the ordinary lands of mortals and pass on to Arvanaith, he or she will often spend considerable time in vivid dreams and waking reverie. The process is known as the Transcendence. Sehanine sends the elf a vision as to where he or she must go to begin this journey. At this a telltale milky crescent appears in the aged elf's eye, the moonbow of Sehanine's honorific name. Other elves may join with the departing one in a shared trance state, sharing memories and direct telepathic communication with Sehanine's blessing... the Circle of Transcendence. Some cultures require that the elf walks alone into the wilderness, and the body is never found. In others, the spirit departs the body. \n\n In cases of violent or accidental death, Sehanine's priests serve instead of the departed one in the Transcendence. She may channel the lost spirit through her own link with Sehanine, enabling them to transcend to Arvanaith. \n\n Priests of Sehanine (Starsingers) favor silvery-white diaphanous gowns or togas. A silver diadem is worn on the head, often with a moonstone pendant. Simple sandals are worn on the feet, and a silver lace sash at the waist. The holy symbol is a moonbar crystal carved in the shape of a small, flat disc, often worn around the neck on a delicate looking chain of silver or mithril. They serve as the seers and mystics of elven society, counseling elves who seek to take journeys of enlightenment. They organize funeral rites and weave and maintain illusions around sacred elven homelands. \n"
