"0": "The Swords of the Smoking Fog are an adventuring group that operates mainly in the Dalelands, Cormyr, and the Moonsea. They take their name from the Smoking Frog, a renovated inn in Deepingdale, on the Eastway near Highmoon, that is their main base. \n\nThe Swords began their careers in Marsember, with the original group consisting of Semmer, Raphodel, Qil, Lynxal, and Belsambar. They became famed for several splashy ventures, including the delving of the Screaming Tower in Teshendale, exposing a Zhentarim plot to control shipping in Marsember, fighting the Grey Lady of Irondrake Rock, and battling drow in the depths of the Spiderhaunts. Through these adventures, they gathered several new members, and shifted their focus from Cormyr eastwards toward the Dales. They bought and renovated an inn in Deepingdale, and can now be found anywhere in the region, fighting evil, righting wrongs, and in general, having a good time. Their most current escapade involved foiling the ambitions of Hillsfar towards grabbing power in Voonlar, and a price has been put on their heads by Maalthiir, the Mage-Lord of that city. \n\nAt first glance, the members of the Swords would seem too different to adventure together, but their many common experiences have forged a strong bond between them. The focal point of this bond is the leader of the group, Semmer Redhand. It is his cool head and innate charisma that keeps the rest from breaking up and drifting apart (although they still squabble quite a bit). He is largely uncomfortable with the faith placed in him, but accepts it as a sign of the other's trust in him. Still, he is glad for the appearance of Jeneander, and has begun shifting some of the weight of leadership onto her.\n\nOf the group, it is perhaps Semmer who is the most notable. Semmer was orphaned at an early age, and grew up in a run-down boy's home in the slums of Marsember. Early on, he assumed a guardian role, protecting the other boys from bullies, thieves, slavers, and other predators of the underworld. Today, Semmer is stoic and reserved, but still the protector. Every member of the group knows that he would lay down his life for them without hesitation, and in return, they obey him without question (more or less). With the arrival of Jeneander, Semmer has stepped back at bit from the spotlight, but his word is still law, instantly overriding any of Jeneander's decisions. Semmer is a truly talented warrior, from his ability to analyze a situation and come up with a plan for it immediately, to his deadly use of the longbow and his skill with a sword. He is as good a tracker as many rangers, and knows many survival skills, being at home from the slums of Marsember to the wilderness of the Elven Court.",
