"0": "This ruin was once the home of Oenrune of the Ninespells, a Tethyrian archmage who lived several hundred years ago. He wound up on the losing end of a battle for the Tethyrian throne, and fled north to escape his enemies. He built this tower in the forest of The Wealdath, and was massing his resources for another try at the throne, when he was set upon by several Red Wizards of Thay, who came seeking a particular artifact of Netherese origin that Oenrune was rumored to posess. In a night-time battle marked by huge explosions and flashes of light that lit the night sky as far away as Scornubel, the tower was reduced to a shattered ruin. \nNeither Oenrune, the Thayans, or the artifact were ever seen again, although there are frequent reports of a ghostly mage or some other fell magical being that lurks in the ruins, attacking those foolish enough to attempt to delve the tower and its' dungeons. A few mages that have survived the creatures' attacks claim that this guardian is really the remains of Oenrune, twisted by magic and turned into a wizshade of great power. Although it is never seen in the woods around the tower, the wizshade has been known to track down and kill those who have stolen anything from the ruins. \nOenrune's sigil was a stylilized black hand grasping a circle of nine stars. It can be found on the stone plinths that surround the Broken Tower in a 100-yard radius. Apparently, these columns were once part of a powerful defensive ward that would shrink Oenrune's enemies, but most of their magic is long-gone, and many of the plinths are broken and weathered from long exposure to the elements. What magic there remains is highly unpredictable, and has been known to shrink enlarge, and even change the gender of those straying too far into the ruins.",
