"0": "Restricted Classes: \nCurrently, there are three classes that are restricted in some fashion on Rune. \nTo play a Lich or Shifter, one must submit an application for a character. If a person simply requests to play one of these classes without providing a character history and a good character driven reason why they would become this class, then the request will be rejected. An application submitted properly is not guaranteed approval, either. How many there already are in regular use on the server can affect the difficulty of obtaining these classes. They are supposed to be rare classes. If a character abuses the privilege of being allowed to play such classes, the character will be taken away. \nA Lich, if obtained, will only ever be allowed four levels in the class, and at fourth level, their Constitution score will be modified to a flat 18, which cannot from that point be raised any higher to help balance the hit die change and the loss of the Constitution score that becoming undead is supposed to grant them. \nShifters should keep in mind that even if the NPCs in the area don't necessarily attack, when in a form of a dangerous monster of some sort, that this is supposed to be the likely result and thus not turn into forms such as a Red Dragon or a Basilisk in the middle of town. Shifting just to show off your powers or becoming disruptive to roleplay by changing forms randomly is also not advised. Do also remember that unless the form you have taken has the capability to speak in the human tongue (such as a humanoid form or a dragon), the creatures that you turn into will not be able to speak intelligibly to people. \nRed Dragon Disciple is restricted, as it has become too common on a world where dragons have been rare for millenia. Putting in a backstory why you character could be a RDD is required if you wish to take the class. A high ECL (6+) is highly unlikely to be approved in any fashion and will almost certainly require that the character have several racial levels. \n\nVampires and Numen: \nThere are two races on Rune that are somewhat unique to the setting. Vampires are more than just the standard D&D vampire, being able to breed true and having their own culture. There are two factions of Vampire on Rune, those that ally themselves with the necromatic god Mortir, and those that are against the subversion of their race by the god and fight against him in any way possible.\nNumen are another race of rune, a race of constructs. They are part animal, part fiend-touched, and part machine. They are survivors of an ancient war, and long cut off from the outside world. There are two factions of Numen as well, those that are now seeking to coexist with the oustide world peacfully that reside in Ryro Village, and those that created the dark fortress of BioTech.\nThese are both races that one can apply for, but will not be allowed unless the player has been on Rune for some time and have proven themselves a good roleplayer. "0": "ITEMS\nThere are three types of items I'm going to define here. General items, modified items, and unique items. \nGeneral items are the items that are obtained from loot, shops or DM quests. Any character can theoretically obtain such an item, and it will be the same as any other player's item of the same name. These can be traded from player to player or can be sold for an alternate character of the same player to buy. It is preferred that you don't do the latter too often, but there is no rule against such. Trading to an alt without them buying it from a store is forbidden. Anyone caught doing such will lose the item in question with no compensation. If a person is caught doing so repeatedly, loss of all items on both characters will result. \nModified items are items modified from the general items so that they are unique, to an extent. They will still have the same base abilities as the original item, but will have additional abilities added on. It is allowable for these items can be traded to other players with good IC reason. Selling it for an alternate character to buy, however, is not acceptable. It is possible that with exceptionally good IC reason, a DM might allow the trade of such an item between alts, but it is unlikely, and odds are it still won't be free. If caught trading to an alt without permission, the item in question will be taken away with no compensation. If a player tries to do this repeatedly, they will no longer be allowed to modify items. \nUnique items are items made specifically for a player by a DM. They will usually have a special name, and there will be no way for any other players to obtain this item. They are plot, and undroppable. These items will not be tradable to anyone without good IC reason and DM approval. Currently, a total of two unique items are allowed to be requested per character. If a player is a crafter and can make the items themselves, this limit is waived. \nAsking to have an item made that is the same as a general item, but is of a type that isn't normally available is not a unique item. It will be considered a modified item, and so won't be counted against the request limit. \nCurrently, no more than one request for a unique or modified item is allowed to a character per month. A player with multiple characters can request items for each separate character in the same month, but cannot ask for more than one on any single character.\n\nFORGOTTEN REALMS\nThis server is not set on the world of Toril. Faerunian deities and cities do not exist here. Rune has its own setting, deities and mythos. Please use them instead. You will notice that many of the PRC classes gain abilities through specific FR gods that are not present here. Everyone is working hard to find them and deal with them, but in the meantime, if you discover something that seems like its making things to easy, giving you more then it should, or is just plain cheating, you can assume its considered an exploit. Such should be reported to a DM, effort made to undo any accidental use of the exploit, and to not use it again. Using a bug or something that is badly coded to give your character an advantage in play is not allowed. If someone is found using a bug or exploit, they will be warned to not use such again. If they persist in using the exploit after being warned, loss of character will result. \nCurrently, the following exploits are known and not allowed:\n\nLarge size and double weapons: A large creature cannot wield a double weapon in one hand while simultaneously wielding any other item in their off hand. D&D rules state that if a double weapon is wielded in one hand, both ends cannot be used in a fight. NWN has not coded this into the weapons, so it isn't allowable to use a double weapon with any other item in the off hand. \nShifters: Using the ability to change forms and sizes to use weapons a form normally wouldn't be able to, such as a Halfling wielding a great sword or a double axe one handed, is not allowed. Using this power to be able to wield weapons you don't have proficiency in is considered the same thing. Don't do this.\nShifters: PnP Shifters shifting to the same form to regain hit points by doing so. Doing so intentionally is an exploit. If you are caught changing to the same form (and yes, we can tell) it will be considered an intentional exploit. Accidents will be allowed, such as shifting twice in a row because of lag or hitting the button one too many times. But, if you're shifting to get hit points back it better be to a new form each time.\nRanged Disarm: This causes items that aren't supposed to be droppable to fall. As some of these items are plot or not meant to be obtainable in such a simple fashion, until this is coded to check if it's droppable or not, don't use it. \nRanged Ledgermein: This ability allows one to use Open Lock and Disable device at range. It also allows one to unlock unlockable chests and doors. Open Locks does not pick wards that are only opened by a specific wardstone, nor does it allow one to open a lock enchanted to accept only a specific key. Some chests might simply be nailed shut, which again, Open Locks does nothing for. The fact that doors that require specific keys will have very low or no actual DC to open also makes this inappropriate. Don't use this ability to break into areas that require a specific key. \nCounterspell: There is a glitch with counterspell that allows a caster to not lose spell slots despite casting spells if done properly. Do not use this trick.\n\nMore in Exploits 2."

If you need to change your Chosen Weapon due to RP, let a DM know and they will replace your existing Chosen Weapon with a version which has not had Chosen Weapon used on it. \nArcane Duelist: Arcane Duelists cannot use their Chosen Weapon ability on one of their Mirror Images or Flurry of Swords copies. Doing so makes them plot and immune to damage, an exploit of the worst kind as now one can use them as a completely unkillable meat shield. This also cannot be used on any other summons or other individuals as well. I'm not sure if it makes PCs it is used on plot, however it's inappropriate and if it does definitely a serious exploit.\nMaximum Hit Points: You only get to roll dice once in D&D. Don't continually redo the same level over and over until you get maximum hit points. The first offense will be punished with releveling the character and accepting the hit points you end up with. Should you be found to return to doing so you will lose 5 levels and be forced to relevel and accept the result with any levels in excess of where this previously left you. If you repeat such again you will lose the character. If you do such with another character after losing one, all characters will be deleted from your vault, and you might end up banned.\nAlso covered under powerleveling is using areas that respawn so fast that they can be 'circuit' run through continually. Doing do is considered an exploit. This should be reported to a DM and not used to powerlevel.\n\nIn short, if you have to look around first to make sure no one is watching... its probably cheating."

You can have a difference of opinions without resorting to elementary school behavior. \nIC conduct is similar but makes some provisions for RP. Characters can cuss (still don't be extremely vulgar... there is a wide range of ages / experience on Rune) and get into fights, conflicts, etc. However, if you are uncomfortable with the way an IC situation is going, let the person know OOC your feelings, and if someone else does this respect it and end the RP that's causing it. Conversely this is not to be abused or be a shield to hide behind. If you steal from someone, or shoot an arrow at them... you can't just say your suddenly uncomfortable with them RPing hunting you down and killing you / getting their stuff back. Situations that would make a real life movie rated R or worse should be discussed OOC with all participants first (and in some cases some effort made to have it occur in a rather more private locale then say right in the middle of Guardiana) to make sure all are comfortable with the situation being portrayed and the option available to opt out and leave the area without ridicule or hard feelings.\n\n\nOOC AND OOC ACTIONS\nThere is to be no OOC comments outside of party chat, DM channel, or tells. If a player does not like OOC, they can either not join the party, block the party chat when they join, or make a separate party with others who don't want to deal with such.\nDo not attack others without IC justification.\nDo not pickpocket others OOCly.\nDo not use spells or abilities on others OOCly.\nIt should be noted that this limitation spreads to NPCs as well as PCs. If you do something to someone and there is a game mechanic behind it, it will be assumed to be IC. Saying OOC before it does NOT make such acceptable. Attacking or otherwise doing things to NPCs will be considered IC at all times with any consequences thereof.\nIf you go to Guardiana, there is a Training Grounds area. This is a Roleplay server firstly. Gaining more than three levels in a day is not recommended. If a character reaches twentieth level or more in only 2-3 days, they will be dropped back to sixth level and all equipment removed. If the character again reaches such high levels that quickly, they will lose the character. \nUsing a fast respawn rate to go back and forth through the same dungeon will not be allowed, nor will going from one dungeon to a second nearby and back repeatedly. Again, though, being low level is not to be used as a shield. If a low level is warned by a high level that they will be attacked if they don't stop and they don't stop, the high level has all rights to attack them. \nAttacking another player for any reason is naturally forfeiting the right to say 'no PvP'. \nOnce PvP is resolved, it is considered common courtesy to give the losing player an OOC raise. However, if a person is attacked, it is not necessarily expected, as all players don't necessarily always have the means to raise. If you are attacking, you should make sure you can do such. If it's a duel, both parties probably should prepare in advance for such. \n\nPICKPOCKETING\nThe pickpocketing of PCs by other PCs is allowed on this server. However, constantly pickpocketing the same person or people much lower level is not advised. Also, if you happen to take an item that the player would certainly notice you taking no matter how good you are, such as a bastard sword they have across their back or the full plate they just aren't wearing at the moment because they're in town, please have the courtesy to give it back and try for something different. \n\nRESPECT \nPlease, respect the other players and the DMs. If a DM asks you to do something, or to stop doing something, please listen to them. If you believe that a DM is wrong in their ruling, please contact the rest of the staff and ask that the decision be reviewed.
