Second, ranged weapons and stealth are a must, shoot, run and hide to live to shoot again. "0": "Navigation is Shargast is difficult! GM's get lost sometimes! There are over 1100 maps (600 of which are outdoor terrain), just to give you the scope of things. You have to copy the map from www.shargast.com! Over 50% of the terrain maps are cross linked and made true to the world map. That means if you want to go to Aralmaria, you can plot your journey using the provided world map. Sign posts are being added due to player pressure to ease the stress of being lost. Get the map - it's a must!!!!!"

"0": "The overall world concept in the Realms of Shargast is based on upheaval. Shargast was once ruled by true neutral, after a massive battle the order of neutral was destroyed. The 4 continents are now filled with strife between the races and a gathering darkness that threatens to wash away the small sembilance of order that exists. This is not an LOTR clearly defined Good verses Evil world! It's mixed and the steriotypes are also changed, halflings are not the peaceful pipe smoking folk, dwarves have had wars with humans, Haernostian Goblins (they have their own area with 9 cities) are neutral and can be interacted with and elves are rather intolerant."

"0": "The alignment concept in ROS (Realms of Shargast) is secretive! How can a town guard know your alignment or what faction you support for that matter and attack you on sight? You are judged in ROS based on your actions not a predetermined alignment set. If I could eliminate alignments all together I would! In the original D & D alignments served as a very general direction for players (my concept), I let them play the way they wanted to! So don't be surprized if you walk into a Goblin city and no one attacks you! Afterall why should they - you will be judged by your actions, your character will be formed by the choices taken. I promise NO INTERFERENCE! "

"0": "The difficulty level is mixed and causes more than a few raised eyebrows in ROS. We've tried to be as realistic as possible, there are some low level areas close to the starting points for all the major races, but by and large the areas are mixed within reason. The Northen continent is tough going 25+ level , the Southern continent is mixed 2 - 20th level, Rakshank (the Western continent) is 2 - 30th level, Haernost (the Eastern continent) is 2 - 25th level and the Astral Planes (20 Maps) are 35th level + (including the plane of evil, neutral and good) (don't ask where they are, once you've adventured enough you'll know where). So where does that leave you? Talk to your racial guide (SURROUNDED BY A LIGHT BEAM) once you go through the racial portal and he'll/ she'll give you some tips AND DON'T FORGET TO PICK UP A STONE OF RECALL!!!"
